We have 2, but the second one is scary and gross in the basement. We never use it. It can get a bit hairy in the morning when everyone is getting ready, but its doable.

Houses with 1 bathroom
I don't think it's awful, but I grew up that way. Two is definitely better. If one breaks or you want to redo the bathroom, at least you still have another to use.
