Sheer Nail Polish
If you use light colored, sheer pink polish- like Essie Ballet Slippers, or anything you would use as like a base for a french, how do you get it to go on smooth?
I find that any light colored or sheerish polish always looks awful when I apply it.
Like streaky and you see the brush lines, or gloppy in some parts.
I guess it's not as forgiving as darker shades, but is there a trick to this that I am missing?

Sheer Nail Polish
A fresh bottle. If the sheer color is old or gloppy, it goes on terribly IMO.

Totally. Add a little acetone to help thin it out so it apples smoothly.

Re: Sheer Nail Polish
I will usually need to do an extra coat, three thin ones of the color, to get it nice and even.

Re: Sheer Nail Polish
I have the same problem. I can't do it. Doesn't help that Essie usually doesn't have the best formula. I usually try to pick a color with a slight shimmer, I find that makes the polish go on more evenly.

Re: Sheer Nail Polish
I use the orly french manicure sheer pink and I love it. Its almost like a clear coat with a pink tint and it looks beautiful on. I wear it over nailtiques every day. This is it:
