Expenses for 2 DC
How much did your childcare go up after having DC2? DH and I are thinking about having another DC but our daycare costs would go up 800$ A month. We just don't have that kind of extra money.
Thanks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Expenses for 2 DC
Ours would double (an additional $1200) but they give 10% off for the second child. This is why we only have one child

Expenses for 2 DC
I'm on the fence about having another as 2 in daycare would be almost $27k a year.

Mine would almost double. We get a small discount for siblings. So it would be basically 600/week.

Re: Expenses for 2 DC
I have two and I have pretty much no choice but to stay home full time. I don't make enough money to justify daycare.

Expenses for 2 DC
When I was working we used an in home daycare which was significantly cheaper for my twins. When I had my third we worked it out with our daycare and we paid $610 a week for all three. My paycheck was mostly going to daycare but I needed the health insurance because dh's insurance sky rocketed once he put a spouse on his. After about a year and a half of working I had no choice but to quit and stay home fulltime because it wasn't worth it money wise anymore. We thought we were going to have to cut back a lot. And although we did cut back on things we are now in a better spot without me working. Childcare costs are insane!!

Expenses for 2 DC
Mine would be about 2800/month if I had 2 in daycare. That's why we are waiting awhile to have the second DC.

Re: Expenses for 2 DC
double - I paid close to $2400 a month for only 3x a week.
Now my older son is in K, so I only do before/after care w/ the daycare for him so my monthly cost is about $1500

Expenses for 2 DC
Ours would double to over $3k. That is why once we have dc #2 I will be home with them and not have them in daycare.

Expenses for 2 DC
This why so many moms I know stay home. Almost their whole salary would go to daycare if they worked. Crazy.

I love that I'll be "forced" to stay home, I wish I could stay home now, but I have a few months left on my student loans and don't wish to ask DH to pay for those. We are so incredibly lucky that we don't need my salary, and we wouldn't have to change our lifestyle. My biggest thing is just to try to make sure I have a good chunk of my own savings before leaving work when DC#2 arrives (hopefully) so that I don't have to ask for an allowance.
