Universal Studios FL questions...

We are trying to plan a trip to FL to include the two Universal Studios parks. We've been to FL a couple times with DS but only went to Disney. DS will be 10 when we go. How many days do we need to do both the Universal parks? Any must see / do things in the area? TIA.

Re: Universal Studios FL questions...

You can def do the whole park in one day but if your family is Harry potter fans I would schedule more bc that land is on the newer side and gets crowded

Also there are water rides so you could change or do a half day etc

I would say minimum 2 days ,preferably 3

I love everything there lol

Simpsoms land is new

The mummy is a great ride and so is Spider-Man

All Harry potter is amazing. New gringo it's coaster and the train ride

He will love suess landing and despicAble me

Re: Universal Studios FL questions...

We were there in November and we managed to do both parks in one day. Islands of Adventure isn't very big and if there aren't any crowds (which was the case when we were there) you can breeze through and hit up everything quickly. At MOST, I would do 2 days at Universal/Islands of Adventure. Any more than that is overkill IMO.

Both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley were INCREDIBLE!!! Don't miss the Hogwarts Express to travel between the two either, they did an AMAZING job with it, we LOVED it!!

The Mummy is great!!! And the Hulk coaster in IOA is my absolute favorite!!!! I like Dr. Doom's Fear Fall too, it's quick but really fun!! There are many fun rides between the two parks and like I said, if you go when the crowds are low it's pretty easy to fly through both parks.

If you've NEVER been, I would probably schedule 2 days there so you can really take your time and see everything. I've been a million times so it's easy for me to move through the parks quickly because I know what I want to skip and what is a "must see" for me. Have a GREAT time! Chat Icon

I would do at least 2 days. There is a lot packed into the parks. We were there for two days over February Break (did Sunday and Monday and it was dead), and even with a disability pass, we didn't get to do everything. We spent several hours at the HP section and that was before they opened the other half of it. If you have a HP fan, definitely get in line at Ollivander's wand shop when you first get there. They have a little show inside, and your child can get selected for it. Have lunch at Three Broomsticks, the food is pretty tasty.

www.orlandoinformer.com is a SUPER resource for Universal. They have some great touring tips, and it helped us a lot when we went last year.

Also, USSSA offers a two day hopper ticket for $130, which is a great deal. I would order ASAP though, because they do tend to sell out. I've used them for Universal and Disney with zero issues.

Universal Studios FL questions...

Thanks for all the info everyone. We will be going in summer (yes, hot I know) so I expect it to be somewhat crowded. Wondering if we will need three days just so we don't have to rush. I will definitely check out the two websites for more info.

USSSA tickets expire before the Summer, but check back, they often update. I would do 3 days if you are going in the Summer.

Re: Universal Studios FL questions...

We went over the summer for the first time and loved it. We did Disney first for 5 days and then went there for 2 days. 2 days were plenty for us....we ran out of stuff to do by the end and left the 2nd day earlier than we planned. Granted we had the front of the line pass so lines were quick for any where we could use it. We didn't wait on line for 1 of the longest harry potter rides (went late August and it was packed - lines for those were over an hour and my kids even the 9 year old has no patience for that) but did do the other Harry Potter rides (rained one day and park cleared out and got one some with about a half hour wait!)and we spend a ton of time (way too much) doing the magic wand in the windows thing.

We got a deal for 2 days at both parks and got a 3rd day free. I think it was through AAA, so check them out or keep an eye on specials through Universal.
2 Days was great, but it was nice having the extra day to go back to the Harry Potter stuff and other rides we wanted to do/re-do.

That's what I was thinking - one day for each park and then the third day for our favorites or things we missed.

Since we'll be there in summer and won't have the pass to get to the front of line, I'm expecting to have to wait for most attractions and rides so I figure we will need the extra day.

Thanks everyone for the input - this is really helping. Chat Icon
