Not pregnant but I get SI joint pain. If it persists after pregnancy, consider injections. If it is extreme, Flexeril is a muscle relaxant that's category B. What I would try right away is a medical massage with a therapist who can get in and break up muscle tension over the area. The pregnancy pillows may help. Congrats on your pregnancy.

I saw my chiropractor throughout my pregnancy- she actually specializes in seeing pregnant women. The treatment helped so much.

Re: Sacroiliac Joint Pain?
Ugh, I had this with my first pregnancy. It was awful. I was walking with a limp for a while. And I couldn't shave my legs in the shower anymore because I couldn't put the weight on that one leg to lift up the other one.
I think I remember warm showers helping, and I tried to do yoga regularly. Positions like cat/cow helped, as did generally moving and stretching my back/hips. If I'm remembering correctly, it was worst at 7-8 months and then did get better towards the end (maybe because I stopped moving so much!). But at 8 months I remember thinking I couldn't live like that much longer, and then it did get much better before delivery, so there is hope! I hope you feel better.
