preschool in nassau county prices
I have a 21 month old and I have been looking into toddler programs/preschool for him. I want full days like 8a -5p 3x a week.
I have found about 4 in my area but it seems like they are all very pricey.
the ranges for the 4 places are from $1200 -$1900 full time 5x a week
even if I only do 3x a week it would still be around $900-$1200 a month
These are all childcare centers that have kids from 6 weeks till 5years old.
The ratio of children is about 1 teacher for every 4th child, they offer 2 meals & snacks
Does this seem reasonable? any suggestions? Im in the west hempstead area
TIA

this sounds like a daycare, not a pre-school. when my DD is born i'm putting her in daycare at 5 months. the price is $315 per week, 5 days a week...which averages about $1350 a month. sometimes it doesn't pay to do part time cause it's not much less.

This, I was offered to come back PT, but I would have only saved $200/month for PT, versus losing about $1500/month.
ETA : at 21 months, I don't know of any real preschool that would be different from a daycare. My understanding has always been that preschools were after the child was potty-trained fully, but I could be totally wrong.
I would also check with your local religious organization, many churches and temples I know of have preschool programs.

They are all intergrated childcare centers. they have an infant program, then a toddler program @ 18months, then a preschool that starts at 3years old, pre-k at 4. but yea I'm realizing part time isn't saving much

That sounds about right. And ditto the PT. If you only need PT that's one thing. But not to save money.

That's what we're paying for day care for 3x per week for DS. I don't think you'll pay less than that.

Those prices seem about right... I don't know how these schools are but i know there is a daycare that just opened across from Pompei off of Chestnut. There is also Jacob Ladder in Rockville Centre- my friend sends her daughter there. There is a Montessori in the church on Hempstead Turnpike (by the White Castle, Hempstead border). Also, at this price you can check out Waldorf in Garden City as well. Lastly, there is the Garden City Coop Nursery on Cherry Valley. Good luck on your search!
