Who is the TOP Neurologist???
How do I find this out? My son has some mild issues & were seeing Dr Kharode at winthrop. Went for 2nd opinion at LIJ.
Thank God my son can walk & talk although he has a phsyical disabilty. (toe walking, high tone) they can't seem to figure out exactly what he has.
I am thinking of seeing someone in NYC or CHOP (children hospital of PA) Does anyone know who is #1?

I have heard Claudia Chiraboga at Columbia (not sure of spelling) is the best neuromuscular person in the nyc area...I got her name in case we needed it but I'm happy with C's management out here. Good luck!
I don't know if he's the best, but after a terrible experience at LIJ we see Bob Gould in great neck. He's in private practice and while it's not as prestigious as being affiliated with a major academic medical center, he got the best and most accurate read on C. My pediatrician highly recommended him. My ped does not love the LIj or Winthrop groups for neurology.

Have you considered seeing a physiatrist? We use Dr Semel from St Charles and she is awesome. They ruled out CP?

All along we thought it was CP but have no formal diagnosis because didn't want on record since my son has no other issues.
The New Neuro from LIJ continues to say "It is NOT CP".
She is grasping at straws saying it could be this, or this, or this.
The Brain MRI was Normal. Also just recently did full spine MRI - NORMAL
I will look into the Dr. listed above.

We really liked Dr. Bergtraum in New Hyde Park. She spends a lot of time with you and your child - doing an evaluation, answering any questions etc. BUT she does not accept insurance and the initial visit is $500!
