Can you eat green beans raw?
I'm having a debate with my BF. I picked up a bag of organic green beans from Trader Joe's last night for a snack to bring to work this week. He doesn't think they can be eaten raw but I'm pretty sure they can. I was thinking of bringing some hummus to dip them into as well.
Can they be eaten raw? Help settle our debate..he's so convinced that you can't eat them raw that he bet a dinner out this week on it!

Definitely! One of my favorite childhood memories is eating them right off the vine from my grandmother's garden.

Yes! I actually LOVE them raw. I'd take raw ones over cooked any day!

They can, but I never do. Something about the texture of them raw against my teeth really bothers me. My mom makes a raw bean salad where they are french cut (thin slices) that I like.

Me too. We had a garden in our yard growing up, and I would often eat the beans right off the vine.
