Meaningful songs to you
Music is therapy for me and def for a lot of other people. What are the most meaningful songs to you and why?
For me...
The World Spins Madly on by The Weepies. When I lost my mom I listened to it constantly
I Would Die For That by Kellie Coffey and A New Day Has Come by Celine Dion when we were ttc dd.
My Wish by Rascal Flatts thinking of dd and now dd2

Halo by Beyoncé was playing a lot when I was pregnant w DD. It gives me chills now
With this pregnancy, Miracle by Foo Fighters... I love it so much
On the opposite side of things, I hate hearing anything Fleet Foxes bc I was really into them around the time my MIL was sick and passed away

Let It Be by The Beatles has always been my go-to song when going through hard times. My uncle was in a band and they used sing a lot of Beatles songs, he passed away in 2013 so now it holds even more meaning for me.
At my sweet 16 I dedicated Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler to my mom and it's been 'our song' ever since. She'll call me whenever she hears it and vice versa.

Release by Pearl Jam kills me when I hear it live...it reminds me of my grandpa and breaks my heart.
Walk by the Foo Fighters...it was my anthem while I went through cancer.
Life and Death by Paul Cardell makes me cry. It's the theme from LOST and I still feel pangs of heartache from that show.
Mercy Street by Peter Gabriel also tugs at my heart.
Any Ramones song...any of them, honestly...they all have meaning in my life and have all been there for me through every moment.

Wind Beneath My Wings makes me cry the ugly cry no matter where I am... I've had to pull over if that comes on.
I've just seen a Face - Beatles, it just hits me in the feels, makes me happy and what love feels like.
Wonderful Tonight - Clapton, again, it's what love feels like to me.

Omg I can't even listen to that song without crying hysterically thinking of my mom.

I was driving home from work one night while pregnant w/ DD and N'Sync's This I Promise You came on and when this part came on, I started bawling so now it always reminds me of DD.
And I will take

Walking After You by Foo Fighters reminds me of DH b/c it was our wedding song. It's very rarely on satellite radio so when I hear it, it makes me happy.

"Under the Table and Dreaming"- reminds me of high school and college years. Such happy times
"This Will Be Our Year"- my wedding song and makes me think of my hubby when I hear it
"You Are My Sunshine"- a lullaby I sang to my DS and now DD every night. I tear up when I sing it to DS now because he's getting so old. 
"Que Sera Sera"- I would sing this to my DS when he would be up crying at night during his first year. It brings me back to those late nights when I hear it.
"The Luckiest"- another song that reminds me of my relationship with my hubby
"I Can See Clearly Now"- a song playing on the radio when I got amazing news regarding the health of my daughter before she was born. It was amazing timing and I can't help but feel that sense of relief and joy when I hear it now.
I could go on and on. Music is filled with meaning and memories for me.

My wedding song was The Luckiest by Ben Folds. It's very fitting to me and DH. the first line is..."I don't get many things right the first time..."
Our other song is Head Over Feet by Alanis. The song explains how i felt when I met DH.
Goodnight Sweetheart by the Spaniels...I sang (and still sing) that song to my DS every night since he's born.
Hello by Lionel Richie....My great grandfather taught me that song when i was very little and my grandma always loves to hear me sing it.

My list could go on forever, but I'll keep it short:
The luckiest - my wedding song. Really the entire rocking the suburbs album is probably one of my favorite albums of all time.
Love and happiness - a song by Mark knopfler and emmylou Harris. I'd never heard it but my Dad wanted it to be our dance at my wedding. I still cry whenever I hear it and I sing it to DD almost every night (I don't cry when I sing it to her, although I won't lie, sometimes I do)

OMG Mercy Street......I LOVE this song. So haunting....I love to listen to that one at night when I'm driving...

Halo by Beyoncé always makes me cry . It was playing a lot when my daughter was very sick and hospitalized. The words in that song just make me think about how my daughter us truly my angel..even though I'm sure if I read the lyrics it's probably about a man. But to me it will always bring me back to the most difficult time in my life.

Lots of songs are great and make me smile but all those that MEAN something are Beatles/McCartney
Paul McCartney - The Song We Were Singing - My dad. We danced at my wedding to it.. and it means so much to me and us. Because no matter what we were doing or what was going on in our lives we talked.. and sometimes it was just about whatever song we were singing at the time.
The Beatles - When I'm 64 - because AJ loved it so much off of the Yellow Submarine movie she'd go to sleep to it. And because I never had a chance to sing it to my Dad
The Beatles - Two of Us - because we changed it to three of us and sang it on our trip from California to Texas with my Dad and brother :D
McCartney - Here today .. I think of my bio host and a long lost bf
Love in Song - Lost BF that makes me cry when I think of all that I invested that was for nothing.. :(
Hubby and I have no 'song' really. But its fun to watch him sing All together now off of Yellow Submarine hahaha we laugh with that.

My Way by Sinatra. My grandpas favorite song. Whenever I hear it I think it's a sign that my grandpa is saying hi.

Better Man by Pearl Jam will always be a big one for me. It was my best friends favorite song. He passed away in a jet skiing accident when I was a senior. In fact, this last a Christmas break marked 20 years since he died.
And obviously I gave ones that make me think if DH. Kiss From a Rose because we saw Batman on out first date. All I Need by Mary J and Method Man always reminds me of when we were first dating. Your Song by Elton John was our wedding song.
All songs from Moulin Rouge remind me if one if my best friends. We were obsessed with it! She has moved away and I always miss her, but especially when I hear anything Moulin.
And for my DS, it's got to be Kids and Somewhere Over the Rainbow- the Hawaiian sounding one.

The entire Mumford & Sons second album - I had that cd in my car and listened to it almost exclusively in the months leading up to dd's birth. That palpable anticipation and excitement comes back every time I hear a song from there.
