PIO ouch!
First time taking progesterone in oil...omg. My butt is aching lol and it's only been one night. The dr said not to ice it bc it could construct the blood flow and flow of medication to where it needs to get. How do you ladies sit after a week of this? Either way, hopes this leads me to my bfp. Get my day 1 embie results today. I know they only removed 6 eggs so praying for at least one!

Re: PIO ouch!
I did ice beforehand, though I never found the injection to be painful. Did you apply heat afterwards?

PIO ouch!
I warmed the PIO before injecting it (in a cup of warm water). I then used a heating pad on the injection site for a few minutes. After injecting the PIO, I massaged and heated the area. Out of all the injections, I ever did only one hurt - that was Day 2, when my DH definitely hit a nerve - literally! From that point on, I did the injection myself.

PIO ouch!
I don't think the injection is painful, I just feel sore like I worked out too hard lol. Was told not to warm it either. Will try the heating pad tonight afterwards. Thanks

PIO ouch!
I didn't ice it before hand and your doctor is right it could restrict blood flow,BUT if you are on any blood thinners(Lovenox or Baby Asprin) it's ok.
I know the feeling I was on it from IVF through 13 weeks. Now I'm on 17p which is another form of progesterone in oil until I deliver so my ass looks like it's been punched all over.

Re: PIO ouch!
I dont think I needed to ice it. I did find some spots would hurt less than others; and those are the areas I tried to stick with.
After injection; I would warm the area with a warm paper towel and massage the area for a few seconds to make sure it distributed itself inside.

Re: PIO ouch!
It was hard to sit!
I had a numb area of my butt that took about a year to go away.
It's all worth it in the end... but I do remember hating that part the worst of all.

Re: PIO ouch!
I guess I'm not the norm as they did not bother me at all and I was taking them from my retrieval till I was 10 weeks pregnant. My re said it is time to switch to the crinone suppositories and I asked if I can stay on the injection. He probably thought I was nuts as most can't wait to be done . I did ice with an ice pack for about a minute . He may have also helped my husband is in the medical field .

What's interesting is that this time round, with the same group, my DR asked me what I thought of the injections. I said they were literally a pain in the ass... and I got to use progesterone suppositories with this round (which worked).
But, who am I kidding, I did all kinds of self-mutilation to get & stay preggo.
Hang in there!

Re: PIO ouch!
Hang in there!!! I had one REALLY painful one where DH hit a nerve I think also, but all others were moderately painful. I was super lucky and had excellent numbers by day of BFP and Stelling let me stop estrogen and progesterone right away.

Re: PIO ouch!
I did. I didn't post it. I had issues during my pregnancy with my daughter and we didn't know if she was going to make it. They almost made Me deliver at 28 weeks. Then shortly after they were born they both had RSV and were hospitalized. Again we didn't know if my daughter was going to make it. But now, they are going to be 4 months old this week and are happy and healthy!!!!
Born at 36 weeks 3 days via c section because of cholestasis of pregnancy. No nicu stay. Boy- 7 lbs 4 oz Girl- 6 lbs 3 oz
Thanks for asking!!

Re: PIO ouch!
You or your DH also might be hitting the muscle. I could not walk for days bc he was doing it wrong, once my cousin who is an RN showed him how to properly avoid the muscle was fine. GL
