Cold cuts?
Do you eat cold cuts while pregnant or only if it's warmed up? Curious to what you do.

Re: Cold cuts?
I eat a cold deli sandwich maybe 1-2x a week. I have them make the sandwich for me so the cold cuts are fresh and only from a specific deli that I know is clean and busy.

Re: Cold cuts?
Judging my recent news stories, we have a better chance of listeria by eating melon, hummus, etc. The only food on the no list that I avoid is raw sushi... other than that, I eat it happily!

I've only had hot roast beef sandwiches, I stay away from the cold cuts otherwise.

Cold cuts?
I have never heated up cold cuts before eating while pregnant, with either pregnancy.
ETA: I never received any restrictions from my dr.

Cold cuts?
With my fiest pregnancy I never had any cold cuts bc whatever the dr told me I couldn't eat I listened. This pregnancy I'm being so much more leniant. Lol. Moderation is the key! I've had cold cuts only a few times and I just had a hot dog that was sooooo good!!

Cold cuts?
I eat cold cuts at least once a week. I am careful about where I order from (although that is not any different then when I am not pregnant).

Cold cuts?
I specifically asked my OB about this and she said as long as they're fresh it's fine. I've eaten prosciutto a few times.
I also asked about bacon and she looked at me like I was nuts and asked if I planned to eat it raw and then laughed at me. So all good on the bacon front, too.

Re: Cold cuts?
I've been eating salami and Swiss the past 2 days. And ham prior. With my first pregnancy I heat them. As long as its from a reputable place that wraps and refrigerates and moves them its fine.

Cold cuts?
I didn't eat cold cut my entire pregnancy. I didn't want to take the risk. I followed whatever my Dr told me not to have. Of course my entire pregnancy I craved a prosciutto sandwich! lol

Re: Cold cuts?
I ate cold cuts when I was pregnant with #1 and I have eaten it now at almost 14 weeks this time. Usually 1-2 times per week. I only get cold cuts from the butcher, who typically gets a better grade of meat and I only get Boars Head.

Cold cuts?
I ate them for lunch. Get from a clean place that you would want to in the first place, don't get from some shady deli.

This. Ate them like they were going out of style. Never heated. My OB never said a word about not eating them. You have more of a chance of getting lysteria from hummus or fruit

Cold cuts?
I cut back a lot. I did the same in my first pregnancy too.
ETS: I cut back due to the nitrates.
