Yeah!! So exciting. At what week will you all say, "ok if baby comes now I will be okay" - I think once I make it to 37 I will be so relieved

Haha I'm thinking 37 also!! I have my 37 week appt with the dr who delivered last time and who stripped my membranes at 38 weeks so if I'm 1-2 cm at my 37 week appt I'll ask him to work his Magic! Lol

Just had my growth scan. Baby measuring 4lbs10oz, 60th percentile. Full head of hair. Baby is in position, head down thankfully. Long legs. Measuring slightly ahead of due date.

Chat Icon Chat Icon

Is a growth sono standard practice in your office? I was only offered one with my dd since she was measuring big (fundal height). I am hoping to see this guy one more time but there has been no mention of a scan Chat Icon

Standard. I had one this time with dd too.

I'm 34 weeks and at my appt on thurs she sai she wants me to do a growth sono at 36 weeks. She says baby is measuring big...yet again. Oyyyy but at least I'll get to see baby boy before delivery!Chat Icon

Yeah mine does them between 32-36. I thought it was standard. Mine is on the big side too. Can't believe we are almost there.

I was induced with my DS too. I have a medical history of strokes so my dr does it so he can monitor my meds (when to take me off so less bleeding occurs). Its more of a control necessity. This way everything is monitored. Also my neurologist will be on stand-by to if she is needed.

For those that have had kids already what should we expect at the weekly appointments where they do the internal exam? Is it worse than a pap?

Mine never bothered me. Depends who does it and how agressive they are. You may spot after, which is normal.

my doc said he would start them at 35 weeks. Um...with my other 2 I remember them being uncomfy but never unbearable or really painful. I was always interested to see how much I was dialted or effaced!

I believe my doctor starts internals at 36 weeks, which for me is next week. At my last appointment, I asked him if he would do any more growth sonos going forward and he said he would around 38 weeks (I'm guessing for me especially since my baby is measuring really big supposedly).

With my son I remember internals felt like a pap. I don't remember it being painful at all.

Re: ***OFFICIAL JULY 2015 BABIES THREAD***

Okay thanks everyone! Yeah I feel like as long as it's not too invasive it would be fine considering it'll be great to hear if I'm progressing!

I know this has nothing to do with when you'll deliver but this baby girl has been moving around so much as if she's just a real baby in my arms that I feel like I won't be late so I'm curious if that will be true. It's my first and I know one is usually late, but still!

Internals are more uncomfortable then anything... I found the internals they did at the hospital during labor immensely painful and am dreading those ones!!!

Yes I remember those hurting a hell of a lot worse too. I think the girl that did mine was a resident and its like she shoved her whole arm up there. Chat Icon

***OFFICIAL JULY 2015 BABIES THREAD***

Just had my growth sono at 36 weeks 3 days. Baby measuring 7 lbs 3 oz. 87%.and measuring a week ahead.

I was actually rear ended last week so had to be monitored at the hospital and they checked me and I was having contractions and 2 cm dialated at 35 weeks, 3 days. Thought my doc would check me today but she said starting next week. Curious at what my progress is now!

Eta: all my internals last pregnancy HURT! She said she would sweep my membranes at my next appt
