spinoff: teacher gift question

for those that do give a gift at end of year, what do you give?

DS is leaving his current school for a new one, so I want to get the teacher and aide something at the end of the year.

i was thinking a "summer beach bag"
tote, cold drink cup, sunglass case, flip flops, some nice lip balm with spf, etc?
what do you think? what else should I put in there?

any other gift ideas?

I'm a teacher and I would love it! I always give something on top of the class gift. Usually a gift card (between $25-$50 depending on the teacher/experience etc.) I also love giving and receiving personalized things such as notepads, notecards etc. Something I would not get myself.

It depends on the teacher and how well I got to know her and how much I like her

Last years teacher got a vera Bradley bag that I knew she had her eye on.

The year before that I gave Tory burch flip flops in a beach bag with some summer stuff ( towel/magazine/sunscreen)

I'm class mom so I usually work closely with the teachers throughout the year and like to give something nice in addition to the class gift.
