Anyone do yoga when pregnant???
I've been really into yoga for the last 6 months or so, and I've been doing a lot of research on yoga & pregnancy (and most say its great to do!) and although I'm not pregnant yet, I'm getting paranoid about my regular routine and whether some of the positions, like splits, crow, headstands, should be stopped when you're TTC or pregnant. I was doing a DD split yesterday and thought, maybe I should NOT be doing this position anymore. It just felt wrong.
So, I'm wondering if any of you have a list of positions to 100% avoid (pinterest seems to be here and there on this) and also if anyone could recommend a preg yoga video that they love.

If you do it regularly now theres usually no reason why you can't continue during pregnancy. Obviously you should run it past your doctor. But that's the general rule as far as exercise goes.

When I first got pregnant, my RE recommended the Shiva Rea Prenatal Yoga DVD. She said they break down the moves into trimesters so you're never doing more than you should. I have it but have yet to even open it (I'm 23 weeks now haha).

Re: Anyone do yoga when pregnant???
I do, my instructor recommended no deep twists, no abs, and no inversions (i do a bridge pose with a block under my lower back now).
I have been only going to pre-natal yoga this go round.

Re: Anyone do yoga when pregnant???
Yes there is special pregnancy yoga. It's actually recommended that you do it barring any issues with your pregnancy. My Chiro actually recommended that I do Pilates to help with back pain. There may be some moves you can't do but if you do a prenatal yoga class or video you should be fine to continue.

If you can't find a prenatal yoga class all you will do is tell the instructor you're pregnant and as they announce the moves they give you modified positions for some. No worry in doing yoga. Its amazing to keep up in pregnancy.

This is exactly what I did and it was great. She had me avoid twists and gave me modified versions of certain positions like pigeon.
