Day trip to NJ with infant/toddler

My friend lives in Philly with her DH and infant. DH, DD, and I live in Suffolk. We want to meet up somewhere in the middle (doesn't have to be exactly in the middle) for the day. I know nothing about NJ except for AC. Does anyone know of a place we can meet up, take the kids, and have lunch and maybe dinner? We're planning to meet up on a Saturday in July.

TIA!

You can go to Point Pleasant. They have a boardwalk with rides, an aquarium, games, food. Places to eat on the beach like Jenkinsons.

You can go to Pier 13 in Hoboken too. Gets very packed so go early to claim a spot. Its on a big pier right on the Hudson river. They laid down fake grass and they have chairs and bean bags all over. They have a beer garden there and lots of food trucks. So many people bring their kids and lay down blankets and toys, etc. There's music and close by is a park that has swings, etc.

In Freehold, theres something called Iplay..

There's Turtle Back Zoo. They have a picnic area where you can either buy or bring food. They have pony rides, a carasoul, etc.

There's places for strawberry picking and things like that too, and then you can go somewhere after for lunch/dinner.

Liberty Science Center - in Jersey City and close to Hoboken to go to after to play outside on the pier and grab a late lunch or early dinner

any beaches from Pt Pleasant where you can walk on the beach and the boardwalk also has cute games, places to eat, etc.

Spring Lake is beautiful, but more for older crowd. Not a party area, but quiet and big, beautiful homes

Pier Village in Long Branch to sit on the beach and great shopping, spots to eat at, etc

Thanks everyone! I'm going to talk to her about the turtle back zoo. It looks like it'll take us the same amount of time to get there from each of our homes.

I would say do the jersey shore like someone else suggested. Point Pleasant is def one of the best because there is the boardwalk with games, places to eat and rides. The kids will have a blast. Plus you can always do the beach as well.

I live by the zoo and they have mini golf, ice skating, swan boats, tree ropes course, and an awesome huge new playground all in the same area. They have grills as well by the playground. The swan boats, playground (called regatta playground) and grills is part of south mountain reservations if you want to look it up.

The zoo is on the smaller side but my daughter 3, loves it and we have a membership. You can feed the sting rays, parakeets, they have pony rides and a carasoul as well as a train ride that goes through a part of the south mountain reservation. Super cute.

Sounds great!

I was considering going somewhere along the jersey shore but with a newly walking 16m old and an almost 6 month old and me being 32 weeks pregnant when we go, it just sounds like hell, especially it being a Saturday in the summer with all the crowds.
