shared donor cycle
I know this may be a taboo subject, but does anyone know if liivf offers a shared donor ivf cycle, where one would go through a standard ivf cycle and donate half of the eggs retrieved, in exchange for a significantly reduced rate? I have a family member who recently told me she did a shared donor cycle. She retrieved 19 eggs, and was able to keep 9, and 6 of them fertilized. She is currently 13 weeks pregnant, and her costs were $1800. I've been reading up about this, and talked to DH who is on board. I'm going for a consultation next month to discuss.

Yes, they do have a shared program but not sure of the details. Call and speak to Vicky in the donor egg department there, she can help!

RS of NY does this also. Why would this be a taboo subject?

Re: shared donor cycle
so you go through IVF, donate some of your eggs that are retrieved, and the $$ you would get from donating your eggs offsets the IVF cost? Is that how it works?

I think I misread the original post. I thought the op meant shared cycle using DE

Yes, that is what my family member did. All costs were covered, excluding cryo & anesthesia. From what I've read, there is specific criteria you need to meet in order to be approved for this, but I will get the exact information at my consultation (should liivf have such a program), and pass it along to anyone interested.
