Post here if you've done an egg donor cycle
What does it entail and is the cost different from regular IVF ( i won't be purchasing eggs from someone my sister is donating)
TIA

I haven't done it so I'm speaking just out of assumption. I would assume it's like your sister is going through the Ivf (stimming, scans, retrieval). But once the eggs are retrieved and embryos, they are transferred back into you. You would probably follow same procedure for transfer...progesterone, etc, the dr would prob prep your body somehow for your lining and to line up timing.
I also could have just made that whole thing up. :)

Yup it is more money. Even though the eggs are free. This is really unfair.

I don't have any information regarding egg donations, but I do wanted to say I am apart of a group on IG and FB, and there are several women who are currently exploring this option.
If you choose to join IG, you can add me and I will vouch for you for others. They're just as protective as we are here on LIF.

I'm assuming Instagram and Facebook I'm so anti social sites though so I could be wrong about the ig one.
Nothing to do with IF, just online support groups

Yup it is more money. Even though the eggs are free. This is really unfair.
The eggs are free but the testing, monitoring, stimming to produce them, the operation to retrieve them, and the operation to transfer them is not. I think you're also looking at costs assuming no insurance coverage. While many insurance companies don't cover IVF, medication can often be covered or donated. I wouldn't look at the costs online and let them scare you. There are usually other financing options, too.
I have a friend who used donor eggs from a known donor and she now has 2 beautiful daughters.
DH and I went through different fertility struggles and spent $$$$. But we have a beautiful 1 year old son now and I wouldn't change a thing. He was worth every penny we had to scrape together and borrow, putting off buying a house, foregoing vacations, etc. You will find a way to have your baby. It's just all overwhelming right now. Talk to the REs and find out your options.

I went in the city. Mukherjee was my dr, but I saw all of them during monitoring. Love love love Mukherjee. They are all great drs and a bunch are always on ny mags list of best REs. Mukherjee had a great personality too, whereas the others were very scientific. He got the emotional side of it too which I loved. I can't say enough good things about him.

Re: Post here if you've done an egg donor cycle
I was told it would be $20,000 for just the egg donation and then the traditional IVF fees on top of that.
Hearing the price was like a punch to the stomach.

Thanks, i finally got all the quotes from my RE. I am using my sisters eggs so those will be free, however the donor fee would be 8000 plus another 3000 agency fee. The total is around 16k however the FET may be covered for me that would leave me around 11k ……keeping my fingers crossed.
