Chewable cough medicine
Does one exist? DS is 5 and hates liquid cough medicine but really needs it.

Chewable cough medicine
You can try the Mucinex mini melts they make one for chest congestion and another for cough suppressant if it's really torturing him.
Try to stay away from suppressants though because its actually good to cough and get the crap out.

Those Mucinex mini-melts are awful. Nobody I know (adults included) can tolerate them! LOL...they're supposed to be for kids, but 
And yes, coughing is good if it is a productive cough. If just a dry hacking cough that goes on and on but doesn't accomplish anything but make the kid's head hurt, you gotta suppress it a bit. I think honey really does the best job at suppressing a cough, even though my DD hated it!

We put everything in applesauce..MY kids won't take pills or liquid so most times if prescription it's capsule sprinkled on a spoonful of applesauce lol
