GHI & IVF
I have GHI insurance & can't seem toget a straight answer about IVF coverage. I know they will pay 75% after failed IUIs. If I am over 35, is it 3 or 6 IUI attempts before covering IVF? Also, my RE recommends PGD. Does anyone know the cost? It's def not covered under my insurance. Thanks girls!

It's 3 if you're 35 or older. Did you call GHI and ask what is covered? I started at 35 and we only had to do 3 before we were allowed to move on. Also as I stated before if there is a medical reason for you to do IVF your RE can write a letter to insurance explaining the medical necessity of IVF and possible get it to allow you to skip all IUI's. This is something you really should be talking to your dr's office about and seeing what they say they can do.

I wrote this in the other post to you also but it's 3 IUIs after 35 & your RE can write a letter stating why you're a candidate to go straight to IVF. PGD isn't covered as you said and the cost depends on the practice but IMO well worth it

Is there an age cutoff? My fiancée has GHI-
I know GHI is stricter than mine which is Empire.

The cut offs for iui is 44. Not sure if it's the same for ivf.

GHI & IVF
Hi. GHI does not cover pgd. It costs about $5000 out of pocket. It allows 3 iuis before moving to IVF for age 35 and older. A doctor can write a note and put in an appeal with GHI to move right to ivf if medically necessary. The cut off age is 44 for both iuis and ivfs for GHI coverage. For age 40 and above, GHI wants a blood test done within a month before each ivf cycle is even started in order to get approval. They check prolactin, Fsh levels, etc. Good luck.
