Would you fly at 27-28 weeks?

Yes. That would probably be the last week I would fly, though. Maybe up to 30 weeks.

As long as the trip back home is in that time frame. I, personally, wouldn't feel comfortable flying at all in 3rd trimester which I think starts at 28wks. So I would want to be back home before I reached that point. With both this pregnancy & my last though I make sure to do my traveling (I visit family out of state every year) at 5 months and no later only because the plane is an awful place for an uncomfortable pregnant woman - especially if I frequently need to pee. Ugh.

I flew to the Bahamas right at 28 weeks. It was perfect. Not too long of a flight and wasn't too big or uncomfortable at that point

I just flew 2 weeks ago at 28 weeks to Texas and it was fine. My feet did swell a bit on the flights (and on the way home, our flight only got us to Philadelphia due to weather delays and I DROVE home to LI from there), but I drank a ton of water and got up to stretch periodically and felt A-ok. Just cross you fingers for no flight delays Chat Icon

Re: Would you fly at 27-28 weeks?

I flew to Italy at 24/25 weeks and to St. Louis, MO at 31/32 weeks with my first pregnancy. I didnt decide on the latter until last minute and went because it was a family wedding in a city with a great hospital and family nearby and it was our first child so I was OK if I had to deliver early. But I would not fly again that late just for comfort reasons. 28 weeks I might but I would really prefer to make it earlier.

I just flew for a work trip at 29 weeks and returned at almost 31. Yes, it was a LONG trip. It was really short though, only to DC. No more flying now at 32+ weeks.

I went to Puerto Rico at 26-27 weeks and was fine. Then I did quick day trip to DC at 31 weeks and was very uncomfortable.

No.
My son was born unexpectedly at 28 weeks. When we get pregnant again, I won't be going anywhere.

The only caveat is that I switched my vacation to a national one (so I would have insurance coverage if baby was born prematurely).

As long as the OB says you are good then I would go for it.

Re: Would you fly at 27-28 weeks?

Yes. I'd make sure to have a checkup right before though, and tell the OB about my travel plans. He/she might want to do a sono to make sure all is perfect before you go. (Or not; I have a high-risk pregnancy and the "rules" are different!)

Btw, even with my high-risk pregnancy they told me I could travel until 33/34 weeks.

Would you fly at 27-28 weeks?

Yes, I would fly but I never felt comfortable leaving the country when I was pregnant. I would go somewhere in the US.

I am flying at 29 weeks - was wondering this myself. I don't want to fly past 30.
