National Grid Automated Gas Meter?

Has anyone updated their meter for automated meter readings?

If you have, can you give me the dimensions on the unit that was added to the meter?

Curious about this as well. Anyone have this? They keep bugging us about it.

I have it but rather than adding the attachment piece for the automated read, the guy from National Grid installed a whole new meter -- I wasn't charged for it so I didn't question it. I have no complaints about it. I haven't had to read the meter in months and no one from the company has had to come into my home. Now that I have a 7 week old, I am hesitant to let someone from a company come into my home, walk through my house to get to the basement, etc. I know that they are wearing a vest and could provide credentials to confirm that they are an actual employee, but in this day and age, you never know. There are some total creeps out there. I just feel better not having to let anyone in. The other thing that I really enjoy is no more estimated bills. Every month its the actual read. This avoids a big bill every now and then if they were underestimating your usage, which happened to us one more than one occasion.

It's small maybe 4 inches wide by 2 inches high. It's a little box put on the front where the dials are.
