Just a one day trip. Would like to stay somewhere nice and relaxing with do. Take the ferry in the morning and be home by the following evening. Hotel recommendations? Places to eat? Places to see?

Unless you're planning on doing this mid-week, most places have a 2-3 night minimum in the summer. That being said, my friends and I always stay at Pearls and we love it. For my sil bachelorette party we stayed at the Burbank Rose. It was nice enough and a bit more affordable.

Thank you! We are doing mid week :) I'm so overwhelmed by the amount of places to stay I wanted to hear real recommendations from people I take advice from! Lol!

We stayed at the Newport Harbor hotel - it was in the perfect location and right on the harbor. Stayed there in April and loved it - but not sure about pricing/minimums stays in the peak season. We would definitely go back there :)

We stayed at the Jail House Inn. Right in the middle of everything and nice place. Highly reccommend!

i stayed at the burbank rose for 1 night. location was fantastic, but i barely slept. I was grossed out by the room. the bedding was super old and itchy

I stayed there a number of years ago 8 or so.
I had a less than stellar experience with them. First room we got wasn't all that nice or clean. second room was OK, but not very updated, or comfortable. breakfast wasn't all that great. location is great though.
we have stayed at the windham harborfront timeshare a number of times and have been pretty happy for a timeshare.

We wound up booking the marriott residence inn just outside of Newport. We are bringing the pup now so we needed dog friendly. It was the best bang for our buck
