Potty training
Our two year old daughter (31 months) will sit on the potty chair for a long time but will not actually go. Then as soon as she gets off and we put her diaper back on she will go. We think that she doesn't know what to do when sitting on the potty. Any idea of what we can try to get her to go while on the potty?

Re: Potty training
You can try running water.
We let our kids start peeing & then rushed them over to potty. Takes close supervision & rolling up rugs, but it worked!

Re: Potty training
My daughter is the same age, maybe 1 month older and does the same thing. Sits on the potty but nothing ever comes out. Twice she let out a teeny bit of poop and cried and was so scared.
Anyway I question if she is really ready but she is pretty smart and I think she will catch on. We are going to do the 3 day training method and hope she gets it! We may wait till august bc we have a lot of trips this month!

Re: Potty training
why are you putting the diaper back on? that's probably confusing her. when i potty trained we threw out all diapers and never put it back on

Potty training
The first day dd was ready she would sit for a long time (she has great control) but when she started to feel like she couldn't hold it she would want to get off. I learned I had to do what I could to keep her on another minute or two so she would finally go. After a day of that it clicked and she would go immediately when she sat on the potty.
