I hate my hair.
Have you tried dry shampoo? My aunt is a hairdresser and mentioned that if you wash it too often it can actually cause the oils to go into overdrive so you really should only was every 2-3 days. My hair is just like yours, thick, long, wavy. I straighten in using my GHD iron and then use dry shampoo for the next 2-3 days.

What kind of products do you use? And what kind of haircut do you have?
Product and a good haircut go a LONG way -you might not need the keratin .......
I use no product. I have relied on straightening and blow drying. I'm not sure what to use.
I just had a haircut, which has helped, but eventually it will grow out again and get heavy and frizzy again, so I am trying to remedy that before it gets to that point again.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

Re: I hate my hair.
If your hair is wavy, or 'sort of wavy' and you don't like to blow it out - I'd personally try to work with the wave ........ You MUST use some product to deal with the frizz. And you don't need expensive products either. I have really long, but very curly hair - but my favorite products are cheap !!
Start with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner .......and try a deep conditioning treatment or masque once a week. I like L'Oreal, but yoiu can use anything moisture specific.
Don't rigourously towel dry your hair - I bought one of those wraps in Harmon - it's that weird mateiral they use at the car wash - LOL - super absorbent, but dries quickly. I think it was $5 for 2 of them.
Use a leave in conditioner, connentrating away from your roots, since you said they get greasy - then give it a quick comb through including the top of your head .......
if you're comfortable, try a small amount of gel and comb that through - then style it .....
If you don't like to wear it down in the heat, if it's long enough, braid it, or pull it back into a neat high or low bun. A neat ponytail always looks nice too.
If you use a dry shampoo on the roots, the bun or braid on day 1 might work for the next day to tame the wave and frizz and allow you to wear it down ......
Or, work your fingers through it and let it air dry ........see how it looks.
Alot of my friends ditch their hairdryer and flat iron in the summer and work with their sort of waves ........You'd be surprised how great your hair can be with a good haircut, and products !! But the products are KEY !

It's a 10 spray in conditioner will take away alot of the frizz. My little sister's hair is like your's really thick and wavy ,I turned her on to this and now she can't live without it. It's not cheap, I have found harmon has it for the cheapest. Like $27 for a big bottle and you can use a BBB coupon.
I also swear by WEN . If you use it correctly your hair will be amazing. Mine isnt frezzy at all any more and I can go 3-4 days without washing it. I have to wash it every other day with regular shampoo.
What's the name of the one your sister likes? Thanks! It's a 10 . The one with keratin is the best
