Dominant follicle during IVF?

I am currently on day 8 of stimming during my IVF cycle. I went for monitoring this morning and I have 5 follicles. Most are 8-10mm but one is quite a bit ahead at almost 15. I'm worried that the big follicle is going to push things along too quickly and mess up my cycle. Anyone have any experience with this?

I've always had a lead follicle which measures ahead of the others. I would think it's normal. Day 13 of my cycle was my retrieval so you're on target. My RE had said they want the lead follicle to be at least 20/21 day of trigger.

For my IVF, I had 2 lead follicles and a whole lot of smaller ones. I just started Ganirelix a little sooner and Dr. was ok with letting them "Over cook" to get more eggs. Not his terms, but you get the idea lol

are you taking lupron or ganirelix?
I had this with my ganirelix cycles but not lupron(that is supposed to be the difference and it worked for me). I unfortunately lost the larger follicles (2) as they were too big but i was able to use the smaller that caught up (this was a decision by my dr. for both cycles)

Thanks for the input ladies! I'm starting ganirelex tomorrow which should help. My hormone levels also looked good today, so it doesn't seem like this dominant follicle is doing too much harm yet! I guess we just have to wait and see.

Had this happen during IUI. Ended up w 2 follicles.
They chose to suppress me before my IVFs.
