Recaro Convertible Seat?
Does anyone have one? I'm looking into the Recaro Performance Ride 2015 Convertible Car Seat. It seems to get great on-line reviews and safety ratings, but its definitely less heard of than brand names like Britax and Chicco, and I think that's part of the reason that I don't really know anyone who has one. If you have it -- what do you like about it? Anything you dislike? Thanks!

Recaro Convertible Seat?
I'll start off by saying that I don't have any experience with this personally but I do frequent Car Seats for the Littles and read a ton about car seats. The general consensus from techs is that the Recaro is known for being outgrown quickly and not having much leg room, so it's generally not recommended. I believe it's also a big seat so I would test it out to make sure it'll fit in your car. It's definitely safe so don't worry about that. All seats that are on the market are safe and there's no way to know which one is safer over another.

Recaro Convertible Seat?
I have the Recaro Combination Seat for my toddlers and love them! We have Britax Marathon Car Seat in dh's truck (love them, too). My kids are comfy in the Recaro and the seat is so solid. It feels like a steel cage. Love the hero harness system, too.

Re: Recaro Convertible Seat?
I love mine.
And I don't have a large vehicle, by any means. I have a Maxima - sporty and such. A sedan.
And my son if flipping HUGE.
And we have no problem at all.
It is made well, sturdy, and I like how it looks sleek. It is easy to clean, it is comfortable for him - he really enjoys being in it, never complains even on long trips. It rates very well safety-wise and I'm so glad I chose it because initially I chose out of five that rated really well safety-wise, I chose then based on which was easiest to get him in and out of day-to-day. The strapping and unstrapping.
THIS was by far the easiest, most convenient, of the five I personally tried hands-on.
Since all of them rated really well safety-wise I could then choose based on convenience, looks, style, comfort, etc.
I love mine. I'll never buy another brand.
The guy at Buy Buy Baby who mentioned it to me told me the company initially manufactures Italian Race-car seats. It totally has that look

Dani, I'm reading a lot of reviews with people saying the Recaro is a great forward facing seat, but that people are unhappy with it as a rear-facing seat. In addition, lots of people saying that the seat is abnormally high up, and that getting the kids into and out of the seat is hard because of the seat's height -- numerous people even complained of having to lift their child so high to get them in and out that they were hitting the kids head on the car's ceiling?!?! Have you experienced this at all?

Re: Recaro Convertible Seat?
I had the Recaro and got into an accident. I liked it but it was definitely annyoing getting my RF 2YO in it. I did bang her head lol. Her legroom was limited. We are in the Graco 4ever now and its much easier/much more legroom. I wouldn't buy another recaro but they are surely safe.

Recaro Convertible Seat?
Like Liz said, all car seats on the market are safe. It just depends on the features and extras that you like. Go to the store and see it. Measure it at the angle it will be at in your car and measure your car to make sure it will fit. We took down about five car seats in Babies r us, played with them, adjusted them, measured them and put my son in each and buckled him. We picked the one we felt fit all of our needs.
Also a maxima is not considered a small car. The back seat is roomy and it's a full sized sedan. My husband has a Dodge Caliber and that interior is very small. We did a lot of measuring to see which would fit. Only about three seats actually would.
