Also this is going in a different direction, but once you get off the island, prices for weddings tend to drop significantly.
We had ours in the Hudson Valley and the place, while not over the top in style like most LI places, cost around $10k. Food and everything else still the same as a LI wedding.
We also got married over Columbus Day weekend so a lot of people from down here and the city made a fall weekend out of it.

I went to a wedding at Queens County Farm and it was nice but chilly in October. The house/building/barn where they hosted cocktail hour was gorgeous, but the reception was in a tent out back. Not sure that's really the vibe you're looking for.
