Did MS ruin your excitement?
I feel horrible saying this.
We were super excited when we found out, but now that MS has set in hardcore, I'm just a miserable person. I'm not excited anymore. I just keep thinking, why did I do this?? I feel TERRIBLE.
Please tell me this is normal and it will pass.

You will probably think that exact thought about 4 Billion times over the next 9 months and then even after you are looking at that lil sweet pea in your arms you will still think in your head Holy Crap what did I get myself into..perfectly normal and human!!

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
Yeah not that it ruined my excitement, but I think to myself "Do I really ever want to do this again??" I'm not so sure. This kid may just have to be any only child. I can't imagine going through this and having to take care of another kid at home. I give allllll the credit to second time moms. ALL OF IT.

Did MS ruin your excitement?
I went through constant waves of "so excited!" and "when is this baby coming, I never want to do this ever again!" with both pregnancies. And now I am definitely never, ever, doing it again.
If it's not MS, it's the pelvic pain or back pain. But then there will be moments where it's just amazing, like when they kick.

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
I'm probably the worst pregnant lady, I don't enjoy being pregnant at all, and yet here I am on #4 lol. i seriously forget every little terrible thing that happens while pregnant and giving birth right after I see that little baby, it seriously is the best thing on earth! I even have my DH getting snipped while I'm pregnant so I can be rationale and not get sucked in to the wonderfulness of a new baby! Just the newborn smell alone is so worth 9 months of getting sick, heartburn, getting fat (Bc I'm not a pretty Preggo, some women look gorgeous, I'm the lady with the fat face, and swollen everything haha).
Totally been there in those thoughts though, but I promise it will be soooo worth it! Tiny fingers and toes and even newborn cries sound cute (not for long, but in the beginning lol).

Did MS ruin your excitement?
I'm not going to tell you it'll all be worth it because I think you know that. People (always ones with super easy pregnancies) love telling me it'll all be worth it and I want to smack them. OBVIOUSLY it will all be worth it, I'm not a freaking monster and I signed up for this.
I'm finally in my third tri and I still feel like crap. For me, what dampens my excitement isn't being sick- it's the all consuming, never ending anxiety and worry that something will go wrong. I haven't felt relaxed since I peed on the stick and know I won't until the baby is here. And then I'll have a whole new level of anxiety!
MS sucks, but to me nothing is worse than the worry.

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
I remember feeling this exact way when I was pregnant with my first. M/S kicked in hard at just under 6 weeks and I was so miserable until 15 weeks. I remember telling my ExH that he better enjoy this kid because it was the last time I was ever putting myself through that.
But it DID pass and when it did, I felt fantastic! It s u c k s going through the m/s, but I promise it's all so worth it.

Yes. This. I had terrible pregnancies, from being so sick that I had to have medication in me 24/7 and still needed to be hospitalized for IV fluids, etc, to blood vessel issues, to preterm labor, etc, etc. I don' think I was excited until my baby was in my arms and I'm totally ok with that. I will tell anyone that I HATED being pregnant, and I'm not ashamed, doesn't meant I don't love my kid, doesn't mean I wouldn't do it all over again for her, just means I hated those moments.
Hang in there, and don't feel bad about feeling bad, you're only human

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
For me - MS was AWFUL for my 1st - 24/7 and it went on forever.
MS was worse than giving birth (c-section).
MS was harder than the recovery and NICU experience.
MS was harder than caring for a 3-4lb baby.
MS was worse than the sleepless nights.
MS was worse than the terrible twos.
Luckily - I had much less severe MS for DD #2.

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
Once the MS passes and your PG progresses it will be a distant memory and you'll think Oh that wasn't so bad in the grand scheme of things. Then you'll move on to the next phase of PG. you'll start feeling kicks, having more energy, belly grows. Then you start leaking weird things, pee your pants every single time you cough or sneeze, lose your plug etc. then you'll give birth and tear from your vagina to your a$shole and you can't sit straight for a month. So it's just going from one bad thing to another

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
I wouldn't say that I was less excited because if the morning sickness and I had it my entire pregnancy. I remember I would keep the sonogram picture in the bathroom and look at it every time I got sick so I can see how worth it, it would be. It definitley was a tough part to get through.

Did MS ruin your excitement?
I was a miserable pregnant person.. It was really a hard decision for me to have another bc I hated being pregnant so much. MS was awful, I was uncomfortable, felt fat, got so swollen, my boobs were in pain from the beginning to the end. I hated the attention. I hated people touching me. I had an awful recovery from labor bc I tore so badly. BUT my daughter really is so awesome that I decided it's worth it to torture myself again for 9 months.

Re: Did MS ruin your excitement?
totally normal; MS sucks!! I never threw up but it was still bad at times. I've found in the last two months (almost 9 months) that some of the nausea has returned unfortunately. It will pass!! There's 40 weeks in a pregnancy give or take - plenty of time to feel excitement :)
