LIRR Parking Lot - Massapequa
Last month I parked in the LIRR lot in Massapequa 3 times. It wasn't until the third time as I was walking to my car that I realized you needed a permit to park there! I never had a ticket on my car...so I'm just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a ticket for parking there and was it one that was mailed to your home. My car is still registered to my old address and let's just say that the person living there is a jerk and would probably throw these tickets away and not tell me! Thanks!

They would definitely ticket you right there and then - not through the mail. I am shocked you haven't been! They are usually all over those lots. You've been very lucky!

Oh wow, thank you so much!! I kept entering through the same spot where there is no sign about the permit...it was always around 11am or 12pm that I parked and I returned between 4pm and 6pm. This is a huge relief, thanks again!

Re: LIRR Parking Lot - Massapequa
it may be possible you parked in a municipal lot near the LIRR Massapequa. This lot is free, but you can't park there before 8:45am and then til midnight.
They ticket that lot everyday in Massapequa, I have a permit but I do not stick it on my car, and put it in my window and one time I forgot and got a ticket.

One lot near the train you don't need a permit. The one all the way down the end near the vfw hall. They ticket the other lot several times a day.

It wasn't this lot...I saw the permit sign when I got off the train and I looked at other cars and saw that people had the permit stickers. They are tiny and not obvious like something hanging from the rearview mirror, I would've never noticed them if I didn't see that sign.

No that lot all the way down by the VFW is unrestricted no permit required. There is not any restriction by hrs
here is the Massapequa lot info http://web.mta.info/lirr/images/stationmaps/massapequa.pdf

If you look at the map the orange vertical lot is next to the VFW, the lot all the way east is next to the American Legion (diff than a VFW) that is the free unrestricted lot.
