Anatomy Scan
I had my scan on Wednesday and I was just wondering what kind of issues they check for. I didn't even realize I was going in for this, I just got back from babymoon and thought it was just a check up so I didn't prepare myself. Now I'm nervous that I'm going to find out something bad when I thought I was in the clear after the genetics testing.

They check everything- 4 chambers of the heart, brain, kidneys, limbs, facial features. They check the cord for abnormalities, the placenta, your fluid, cervix. Literally everything. Completely separate from genetics testing; unless there was a genetic issue that caused an anatomical defect I can't even see how the AS would pick anything genetic up.
Are you sure you had it? Mine was significantly longer than any other sono I had and the tech pointed out everything to us and then confirmed that she's a girl. I'm pretty sure you would have realized what was going on, which makes me think maybe this wasn't it?

Did you speak to the doctor afterwards? I just had mine a couple weeks ago, and I had a sono tech do the majority and then the doctor came in. With my first 3 it was just like everything looks good, this time I was told my placenta is attached to a fibroid and while everything looks good now, they want to keep checking every 6 weeks to make sure he's growing ok since they both require blood.
Basically I think you find everything out that day, or I have at least. So I don't think you should worry.

They check for any anatomical abnormalities, which can be related to a larger issue or not. My tech took 75 images and then the perinatologist came in and reviewed them and let me know if there were any issues. They also look at your anatomy (ovaries, uterus, cervix) for cysts, fibroids, etc. I would've been told immediately if there were any issues. Did you meet with a dr too or just the tech?

I did mine at the hospital with the perinatologist so I met with the dr right away after both anatomy scan for both my dds.

They would call you if something was wrong. There is no way they would wait 2 weeks and not call you. I'm sure everything is fine and I wouldnt worry. If you are still anxious call the doctor tommorow
