Spinoff to frozen breastmilk storage
If I am pumping at work to have milk for my daughter at day care am I giving her the following day the oldest frozen milk and then putting the fresh stuff in the freezer in the back of the row of milk or am I just giving her the fresh stuff from the previous day?
Curious everyone's thoughts because I have milk frozen from August but I'm wondering if I should start with that

I gave fresh from the previous day as much as possible. I was told freezing takes away some of the nutrition. I probably gave about 1 frozen bottle per week to rotate thru my frozen stash. I never had a huge stash that needed to be rotated though. If you have a huge stash you might need to give frozen bottles more often as not to waste before they "go bad".

Re: Spinoff to frozen breastmilk storage
Although I know this is not super common if you haven't already i suggest you do a freeze check to make sure you can freeze your milk.
I was unable to keep my milk because i had an excess of lipase and was not going to scald the my milk before putting it in the fridge or freezing it. My milk was good for less than 24 hours in the fridge or freezer. I had to throw out my stash because it was all yucky. Fresh milk was fine but i couldn't store my milk. This is usually something people find out after the fact when they go to their stash and find it all spoiled.

Re: Spinoff to frozen breastmilk storage
I used frozen milk in the first bottle or two because I knew they would drink those bottles before the end of the day and frozen milk needs to be used with 24 hours. I discovered that my kids preferred if the frozen milk was mixed with the fresh milk so I usually put half a bag in the first bottle and half in the second. I froze the remaining fresh milk. I had a large freezer stash and rotated the milk so it didn't stay in the freezer for more than 5 or 6 months.

Pretty much only have fresh unless I needed to dip into the stash. I agree to do a test also to see if baby will take frozen.

Fresh and frozen if not enough.
But we'll take a bag of frozen here and there so they don't get wasted.

I always have fresh from the day prior. And then used the oldest frozen milk first when I needed more or needed for a different occasion.

How do you do a freeze check?
