Re: Mirena - Feedback? Experiences?
i got mirena about 8 weeks after my second DD was born. it did not hurt going in and all was well until that night when i felt it stabbing me from inside. went back to doctor, he readjusted it and the same thing happened again that night. i took it out myself. gross, i know. it could have been because i was only 8 weeks after childbirth and things were still a little more loose up in there than usual, or maybe the doctor just never placed it properly. i don't know. but after that debacle i went on lo loestrin fe and have been on it for two years with no issues and i love not getting a period.
good luck!

I will say that my doctor told me that sometimes no matter how many times they place the IUD, some people's bodies reject it and keep forcing it out...

Mirena - Feedback? Experiences?
I was on paraguard and DH definitely felt it and didn't like feeling it. This was quite a while ago(14 yrs) and that was why I discontinued it .

Mirena - Feedback? Experiences?
If you are still interested in Loesterin, I was on it for years (currently pregnant but went off, not an accident) and I loved it. I would never get a period, never felt anything.

I know this is an old post but another vote for Loestrin! I took it for years and had no issues with weight gain. I did get a light period some months but as soon as I got off of it to start TTC, my period was back to normal so no long term side effects. I was very nervous my period would be out of whack!

Mirena - Feedback? Experiences?
Mirena here. scheduling to have it removed to put in a new one.
love it!!! couldn't be happier. i used to have very heavy and painful cycles. now, they are just a blip on the radar. shame they only last 5 years. i would keep one in until after menopause if it were up to me.

I love my Mirena. This is my 3rd one!
But I got PREGNANT!!! on my second one. The pregnancy was ectopic and I lost the baby. do your research and go with what works for you!
