Need help. Parking for mets game on Port Wash branch
she and I are going to the game tonight. I usually take the train from Huntington. After looking at the schedule tonight I won't get home till at least 2am.
So we want to park at Port Wash, or better, great neck.
If he parks at 3-4-5 pm , well can he?
Better question. Does anyone have advice as to where he can park in the Port Wash branch where he can get parking. I need some guidance please.

After 3pm you can park in the commuter lots in Port and should be able to find a spot since it's a Friday. You can start with the lot right by the train and if it's full, go further down Bayles (make a R out of train lot) near North Shore Animal League and park in that lot.
ETA: It's also pretty easy to get parking near the Douglaston stop, you can park right on the street for free anytime. Right around Poplar & Prospect.

I was sent an FM that said Douglaston is the way to go. I think that's what DH will do.

I used to work in that town and if you can't get in the lot, there is parking on a side street called Franklin; you just have to go a block or two away from the station as the first block has limitations. It's not a bad walk.

Parking on the street in Great Neck is free after 6 pm. If you get there at 5 pm you should be ok. No reason to go all the way to Port when GN is closer.
You can't really park anywhere for more than 1-2 hours at a meter. Those lots are all in town.
I would say at 3 pm no where to park safely without risking getting a ticket.

for the price of LIRR, you might want to consider driving to the game. its $22 to park and then at least you can leave when you want instead of waiting on the train platform
just putting it out there...
the stadium is only another 20 minutes or so from douglaston
