Tablet for 2 year old?
DD hasn't really had any experience with technology, mostly because I don't want her to become obsessed.
Can anyone recommend a tablet type device that's good for learning? Maybe something like a leap frog type device? TIA

Tablet for 2 year old?
We skipped the leapfrog type tablet and just got a real one. Dd got hers when she was 2. She is going to be 5 and still uses it all the time. I put all the apps on it myself and that's all she could do. She has the galaxy tablet. Ds will be 2 in march and i will be grtting one for his bday. Just make sure you get a good case for whatever you get. I may get ds the ipad mini because he is so rough and they have an awesome case for it that makes it almost indestructible

My 4 and 2 year olds both have iPad minis. I got them cases as well. They love their iPads and learn a lot on them. There are a lot of good apps.

Tablet for 2 year old?
We got her the Nabi last year but she never uses it. I'm actually going to regift it to her this year lol hope she's more interested. She's definitely more experienced using the tablet now since she uses my iPad... She will be 3 in Feb

Tablet for 2 year old?
i would probably just go with an IPad mini, with a really good case. there are a lot of good apps for them, plus you can add movies, etc too. it will also "grow" more with the kid, too i think as far as adding apps for older ages and stuff. my DS is about to turn 5. he really likes his LeapFrog Leap Pad, and still uses it a lot ( i really feel like it helped him learn his letter sounds!!) BUT he has my husbands "old" iPad mini-- and i just feel like it does more and will grow with him a little bit more...

We are looking into the Amazon one. It's $50 and seems to be good. It comes in a kid version which just had the rubber cover with it. Check it out

Re: Tablet for 2 year old?
It was my intention to just skip to the iPad mini, but mil bought her a leap pad 2. Hopefully she will use it, and it will buy us a year or two before Santa splurges for the iPad mini!

Thanks all. Will look into the iPad route. Makes sense that is something that a baby will grow along with.

Re: Tablet for 2 year old?
My daughter stared using my Kindle Fire when she was 2. It has a child mode on it that is password protected where you manage the apps/books yourself so you dont have to be worried about your child accessing something they shouldnt. It also allows you to disable the wifi when you're logged into it so no accidental purchases can be made. (Amazon is very understanding about giving refunds for accidental app/movie purchases.)

Re: Tablet for 2 year old?
We bought our now 6.5 year old an iPad mini when he was 2.5 - it's been the only tablet he's had. The little guy (4.5) got one for Christmas last year.

Re: Tablet for 2 year old?
DD has been using a Kindle for about 2 years now. Very easy to put the safe guards on and very durable!

Re: Tablet for 2 year old?
Do they make either for kids or they are "all ages"?
