Midwife Recommendation
I hated everything about the procedure for labor and delivery when I had my dd . I know a few ladies who have used midwives for homebirths but my dh is not really comfortable with that so I'm looking for recommendations for midwives that deliver out of hospitals. because I've heard the experience is totally different than when you use a midwife instead of an ob.. the only info I can find is stony brook midwives. There has to be others..

Re: Midwife Recommendation
SB Midwives are great. I loved them and everything about SB Hospital.
Gaia Midwives kind of broke up, but Dale Cook, Susan Brockman, Rochel Lieberman, etc are are all around somewhere. I *think* they're all still affiliated with NUMC in East Meadow.
Melanie Sumersille is in Nassau, partnered with an OB. Delivers in Wnthrop.
The only ones I'd avoid are the Garden Midwifery; they get iffy reviews from anyone that's used them.

Midwife Recommendation
I was hoping to find one out of Southside, St. Catherines or Good Sam.. but it doesn't seem like that exists.. I'm so nervous about making these long trips in labor bc I JUST made it to the hospital with DD and I live 15 minutes away.. can't imagine driving much further!!

They don't - none of those hospitals have midwives with admitting privileges. Your options are basically Winthrop, SB, and I think Huntington Hospital.
