rock and play sleeper
Hi all, First time mom here and need some help. I had originally planned on using the rock and play at bedside before transitioning to the crib in the first few weeks we are home. After doing some research and checking some blogs some people said it wasn't the safest place for a newborn to sleep. I feel like everyone uses it so it must be worthy and safe but looking for some addional real opinions. Thanks!

Re: rock and play sleeper
both of my kids slept in the RNP before transitioning to the crib, I really had no issues whatsoever and I never felt like they were in danger sleeping in it.

We used it. No issues. Loved it. Just use common sense is all i'd say. Flat surface, strap LO in, etc. I would still be using it if my DS didn't outgrow it.

First DD was in it for 5 weeks and transferred into a crib with no problems at all.
Second DD is 10 weeks old tomorrow and the only reason she is still in it is because we are currently living in a hotel while our house has work done and my older DD is in the hotel provided crib. We plan on transferring her as soon as we get home.
Both kids sleep through the night. Yup, even my newborn who has done it since she was 2 weeks old.
Never have I felt that it was unsafe.

We used it and loved it. In fact, gave it to a friend who used it with two more of her babies so it lasts too.

Re: rock and play sleeper
We used it since DS was a horrible sleeper and was refluxy. Once he started rolling regularly, I switched to the crib (~3mo), and making the switch to the crib was HORRIBLE!

Re: rock and play sleeper
DS slept in the swing. DD slept in the RnP. They both transitioned out easily when they were ready (ie: wanted to roll onto tummy to sleep) and I never worried for their safetly. Just be smart about it!

Re: rock and play sleeper
We used it but also used a bassinet. Used each about 50/50 between naps and nighttime.

I used it for 6 months no issues at all! Only way my dd would sleep. Def get it and see how it goes for you. A lot of these products become such a personal thing. What works for 1 baby doesnt work for the next you have to see what works for yoir baby

Re: rock and play sleeper
Everyone raved about RNP. My son hated it. He would scream when we put him in so we returned it.

Re: rock and play sleeper
I used it for both my boys. I can't remember exactly when I switch my ds1 to his crib but ds 2 we just switch at 5 months because he was getting a little too big for it. It is always a tough transition for us but they sleep well in it as a baby and I really like the incline for them.

My girls are 6 months and still in it. In the process of trying to transition to the crib only because they are able to roll over now and move around a lot and try to sit up in it

Re: rock and play sleeper
My dd was really tiny and I felt like she was a little slumped over in the rock n play. Because of that, I switched her up between the rnp and bassinet.

Re: rock and play sleeper
DD hated it and to tell you the truth I don't really like positioning of the back and the legs when a baby is in it. I know a lot of people swear by it, but I didn't feel comfortable using it for sleep. I did use it during the day.
