Laproscopic Surgery
Hey there, I have one DS, hes now 3. I got pregnant with him after 3 failed IUI's, 2 failed IVF's. He was actually an FET. After my son was 1, we went in for another FET, it ended as a chemical pregnancy. Since then we tried a fresh IVF (failed), then another Fresh, to get the egss, but froze them and tried an FET...both failures. I started seeing a new dr (Dr Kofinas Fertililty Institute) Today we met with dr to go over all of the tests I did, most of which were normal. There were 2 things that came up that sort of raised a question of whether I could potentially have scar tissue on my tubes (my uterus area is totally fine and clear, no scar tissue or anything obstructive there) Dr suggested, we could do a laproscopic procedure to look for and remove scar tissue. This would be helpful if we then wanted to try to get pregnant naturally. Which at this point (im now 35) I really don't want to bother with. However, I'm wondering if doing this procedure helps the IVF process in any capacity? My initial thought tells me no, but would love some insight from anyone who has been through the procedure already. Right now I'm feeling like this is just ONE MORE THING TO DO, but it's not answering WHY IM NOT GETTING PREGNANT WITH IVF. I'll def do it, if it helps my odds with IVF, but don't want to bother if it won't make any difference. From my understanding, this procedure is helfpul if we want to try and get pregnant naturally, but since it will most likely be IVF, it won't matter because the dr is extracting the eggs ,fertilizing, and implanting...so we don't need the fallopian tubes to be perfect...right? Thanks for your input! I'm so mentally drained and more confused than before.

Re: Laproscopic Surgery
If you only have scar tissue on your tubes, then that would have no effect on IVF since IVF bypasses your tubes. If he thinks you have scar tissue in your uterus, that's a different scenario.

Nope uterus is completely clear. It's perfect. His thinking was more "cuz your young and levels are good, might be a good way to try naturally...cuz there's no rush" but that's the thinking of a man who's never battled infertility before...in my opinion, if you haven't gone through infertility, you have no idea the desperation and "rush" For wanting a baby yesterday is. And yes getting pregnant naturally...seems nice and ideal but with my husbands work schedule I just don't see it working, and the minute he feels like sex is being "forced and obligated" I feel like he is turned off. We dealt with that whole timing sex when we started wit IUi and it just felt awkward for both of us, if that makes sense. I have to also say I'm really loving this doctors office, the staff is so nice, and they make it feel Personal, not like I'm on an infertility conveyor belt...that's how I felt when I was at CWRC. The Drs didn't bother to try and remember your face, let alone name. And dr B has been so nice, and truly has made an effort to at the very least fake remembering things, you know! It makes such a difference because I'm not dreading my appt. even the billing people are kind and patient, which totally can effect your mood when dealing with all this other stuff. My old place...hands down just felt like they used same protocol for everyone...charged your insurance and you, cuz 90% of the time they'd forget to submit your claims to insurance!...sorry for trailing off into a rant..I guess I needed to vent that out. I'm 35 and my son just turned 3 and yes I feel like I have a giant clock ticking over me :( I didn't expect the second time around to Be harder than the first...thanks for the input ladies. I did call Drs office to confirm what you're saying, and if that is the case..I don't feel like I should bother with that procedure. My body is already gonna go through enough as it is.
