Update on hcg levels
So my levels were 327 and then went up to 487 so not exactly doubling but going up is this good. If baby stopped developing the numbers wouldn't be rising right? Any one experience a healthy pregnancy and sono show smaller than actual low numbers looking for some sort of reasoning and hope

Re: Update on hcg levels
I'm sorry that I don't have positive reinforcements to share...during my first pregnancy my numbers were in the 500s and went up to the 800s but I was already bleeding and miscarried. I was between 5 and 6 weeks pregnant. The doctor acknowledged that they were going up but not doubling as they should be.

Re: Update on hcg levels
I am sorry you are going through this. I went through almost 2 years of TTC and 2 miscarriages, and I always appreciated when women just gave me honest advice.
The fact that you had a positive in November, and your numbers are low and not doubling doesn't look good. I would be very nervous about an ectopic at this point since your numbers will rise with one, but in some cases not double. I would demand another sono in a couple days, because if it is ectopic you do not want to lose a tube.
I hope your situation is just a really late implanter, but from your last post and this one, it just doesn't look like it.

Thank u ladies for being honest. It just stinks because if I'm gonna mc I just want it over with and not linger through holidays. I just want to be ok and move forward

could be ectopic. I know you said you saw something in the ultrasound, but when you have an ectopic it is not uncommon for there to be an empty sac on the ultrasound- I hope they are having you come back in to be sure, because that could be serious

I know, it's so tough :(. What did the doctor/nurse say as next steps when they told you your numbers?

Re: Update on hcg levels
I know how you feel. I had 3 miscarriages while trying for #1 (who is now 4 yrs old) and another 3 losses trying for this one (who is due in a week). It's VERY hard and I hated these number games. With one of my losses, my numbers kept rising even while I was bleeding. I hoped and prayed for some kind of miracle, but it didn't happen. In your case, I think that it's not over yet and things could still turn around (with this pregnancy my numbers did double, but my doctor kept telling me to prepare for a miscarriage since they were still low. Ended up being a perfectly healthy pregnancy). But on the other hand, I wouldn't get my hopes up either. This whole limbo deal sucks so much! I felt the same as you. With every pregnancy I just wanted it to be my keeper, and if it couldn't be then I wanted it to be over as quick as possible so that I could move forward. I hope you get answers very soon! One way or another.

Re: Update on hcg levels
I'm so sorry to hear the numbers didn't double. When I miscarried my numbers continued to rise (slowly) until the day before my d&c at 9 weeks. The baby stopped developing at 5 weeks so yes it is possible for the numbers to rise without development. Hope this isn't the case for you. I'm assuming you're going to have another sono and hcg?

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. As for your husband, he is probably trying to keep your spirits up--sometimes that's what men do. When my husband says something like that I usually say "I just need you to be sad with me for a little bit and validate how I feel, not try to make me feel better because that's not what I want right now." After I say it that way, he usually gets it (as best as a man could).
Sending hugs.

This exactly. If you had a BFP in November your hcg should be over 1000 by now. Definitely be on the look for ectopic.

Im sorry, but i would be sceptical also. Definitely keep getting betas done.
My ectopic wasnt diagnosed till my beta was 1200. But at almost 6w my beta was 800 or somewhere around there.
Either way i hope for the best.
