Bone marrow donation

I'm wondering if anyone here has had an experience as a bone marrow donor, or knows someone that has donated. I'm asking specially for the donation that implies surgery. Thanks!

I have not personally but a relative of mine was for her dad. She was an ideal match. She was in the hospital just for the day of the surgery, although they did tell her it was a possibility to stay overnight. She was in a bit of pain afterwards, but she said it wasn't too bad. No complications. She took it easy for a while after. The upshot was that the transplant was a success, and now 7 yrs later her dad is still cancer free.
