Had genetic testing done today
So my husband and I had genetic testing done today. I'm getting some slack from some people. Were we wrong? Did anyone else have it done?

I didnt do it, but really b/c I couldnt afford it. It was an additional $5-6K out of pocket and my insurance only covers so much.
If i had the funds, I totally would have b/c im going on 37.
I dont see what the problem is. IT rules out a lot of problems.
do people think you're playing god or somethign? is that why? eff that noise.

Had genetic testing done today
My husband and I both had chromosomal testing and full genetic testing. We are each carriers for 1 random thing (my husband's is maple syrup urine disease... haha... it's a real thing!). We also had Ashkenazi jewish genetic testing.
I don't understand what the slack is for? Genetic testing is fairly normal if you've had miscarriages.

I'm willing and to bet whoever is giving you a hard time about it, shouldn't be, because it's none of their business, This is between you and your husband treating a medical condition. Anyone who has anyone to say about it frankly has no right.

I had the genetic testing done and came up as a carrier for one thing so we decided not to have my husband tested. It's something very treatable and tested routinely for anyway. I think it's a good thing to get it done! No one should be giving you slack about it.

I'm doing PGD on my embryos. I'm sure people will have issues with it so I'm keeping it private. Everyone has an opinion, but no one has to walk in my shoes.
Your decisions are yours to make and shame on people for judging.

Had genetic testing done today
I didn't have it done because of the cost. People will have their opinions and this is why I am keeping my IF struggle to myself. I don't need a-hole statements on how we shouldn't have waited so long to try, or IVF is a sin, or how we are selfish for not adopting, etc.

Had genetic testing done today
I dont understand why people would have a problem with genetic testing. It just increases your awareness of the possibilities. I can see some people having issues with PGD, but it is an individual choice. As someone who went thru the pain of a trisomy 21 diagnosis after a CVS test and lost the baby at 14 weeks I fully understand wanting to screen embryos to avoid that pain again. I dont think anyone should judge anyones choices about anything- they can choose for their situation and I can choose for mine.

Had genetic testing done today
Its very common to have genetic testing when doing fertility treatments. Fertility treatments are time consuming and expensive not to mention mentally tough on us so knowing everything you can is a great thing. Drs are not looking to be wasting time and money on a procedure when they can make a change due to something they find out during all the testing.
Do not feel bad about it.
