Vacation with small kids during winter break?
I was thinking about maybe planning a little vacation during the winter recess break in February. Am I crazy? I've never been away at times when school is out so I'm not sure I what to expect or if I should even bother.
Part two of this would be where to even go? I have a 5 year old and my youngest is turning 3. Any ideas on places to travel (maybe driving distance) with them at that time?
Any advice is appreciated!!

Driving would be your best bet as airfares during school breaks are insanely outrageous.
What about an indoor waterpark for a few days- like Kalahari in the Poconos?
It will be crowded for sure, but I think everything will that week

I've never really been out with my kids like this before so I have no clue about these places lol I feel like I've been living under a rock! I'll look into these definitely.

I think they'd love Kahlari at that age if they like water and water parks.
It's hear it is great for younger kids.
The only thing is the rates might be high that week, but again, it will be like that anywhere.

Rocking Horse Ranch is fun. Like others have said, indoor waterparks...many around. Wooloch Pines is another all inclusive in the Poconos. Everything will be more expensive and busy, but that's the price you pay for doing stuff on school breaks unfortunately!
We are going to Disney...obviously not in driving distance though.

Drive up to Boston. They have an aquarium and a Children's Museum. There is also a Great Wolf Lodge not too far from there if you want to try that for a day, too.

Vacation with small kids during winter break?
Not all schools in the NY Metro area are off that week. Airfare probably is high (since there are enough kids off) but, if you book something later into the vacation - it probably won't be quite as crowded. My kids are only off Monday and Tuesday that week.
