Expiring initial certificate questions
So long story short I graduated with my initial teaching license 7 years ago. I subbed for a while then got married and had two kids. I got back into teaching 2 years ago, but now that I'm at my 7 year mark I can't extend my initial anymore. I'm like 8 months short on the experience needed to apply for my professional. It looks like they are going to deny my third year extension. Does anyone know what I have to do now? It's all so confusing. Do I just have to take the tests over? Do I need to have 75 hours of professional development too? Please help!

You should be able to extend it because you had children. Call the state. You don't have to document PD hours until you have your professional.

Thanks I didn't think they would accept having children as a reason for an extension. I'll call Monday. I hope they will!
