Grieve taxes
How do you do it yourself in Nassau County? Is it a lot of work? Usually use Maidenbaum. Thanks

Grieve taxes
DH and I closed on our house in June and will be grieving this year. DH went to a free class they held at the Massapequa library, although he said since he browsed the website beforehand it wasn't that helpful. You can do it right online, he said it's pretty easy.

This - there's very helpful information on this site. I've been grieving by myself for years, but now I check-in with this group to see if I should change anything.

I've grieved my taxes on my own every year since buying a home - 2/3 years I won and got a reduction. You should file a grievance every single year, even if you're property value/assessed value doesn't go up, your taxes will. Silly IMO to pay up to 1/2 the savings to a reduction company. It takes no more than 10 minutes online.

Re: Grieve taxes
I do it myself every year. It's pretty easy but you do have to show comps that sold for less than the current assessed value of your house in order to get any type of reduction.
