Fresh Vs. FET

This will be my second round of IVF.
the last round never took and I had nothing left over to freeze, so I kinda know nothing about a FET.

I'm on a Facebook group for women with infertility, and recently, a lot of them have been saying that FET's have a higher success rate than a fresh transfer?
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on this?

What does a FET process even look like? Your not taking half of the meds like for a fresh transfer, right?

I know women get pregnant all the time with fresh transfers and its the luck of the draw...but just wondering

I've also heard that FET's have a higher success rate. Although I've been hearing of so many failed cycles lately :(. We are in the process of an FET as we speak. It's been a breeze compared to the stims needed for the egg retrieval prior to the fresh transfer. My current protocol which I believe is standard is taking estrogen daily, I go in for monitoring every four days to check on my blood work and lining. They adjust the estrogen dosage based on that. My nurse explained you need to be on the estrogen for at least 12 days and then 5 days of PIO and then the transfer!Chat Icon

Re: Fresh Vs. FET

For me, it was the opposite. I've done 2 fresh cycles and 2 frozen cycles. I became pregnant on both of my fresh cycles, my first frozen cycle was a BFN and my second FET was a chemical.

FETs are much simpler than fresh cycles. I think I did birth control for 10 days but that was the only medicine I had to take besides PIO.
