Babies R Us vs. Buy Buy Baby for registry
i will be starting to register probably next week and was wondering if anyone had any insight as to which one is better to register at (ie perks, return policy, selection, prices) i was leaning towards babies r us as the closest BBB to me is about 20 minutes away, but if BBB has better perks then would consider doing that instead..
thanks in advance!

Idk about BBB perks but I didn't register with them since they're far from me too and I thought it might not be convenient for guest but I regret not going with them. I had so many issues with BRU!

I did BBB, no issues at all. I did it entirely online. I've heard horror stories about Babies R Us registries.

Re: Babies R Us vs. Buy Buy Baby for registry
I registered at both. BRU had some things and BBB had other things- the bulk of my registry is at BBB though. I liked that you could use Bed Bath and Beyond's 20% off coupons (as long as they're not expired), even on the furniture. So far, no issues with either. Though I will say I love BBB every time I go in there. They are just so nice and helpful. Some room decor stuff from my registry was left in the clearance section of the store though I don't think it was supposed to be and they still gave us the clearance price. And they took time out after the store was closing to do so and never made us feel rushed. Plus, I saw their nursing room and it's so nice! I know it doesn't matter now, but good to know for the future!

I did BRU because you get 10% cash back. I also have alot of OOT family, and I think more people are near a BRU than a BBB

I registered at both....they have different selection. From a practical standpoint, I wanted friends/family to have option as to where they shopped. HOWEVER, I do note that I went to BRU to finalize purchasing what was unpurchased and was a bit surprised....I had been told when I registered that they take competitor coupons -- so, I brought a whole bunch of unexpired BBB coupons and they gave me a hard time --- first told me they could only use one, then when I pushed back, they told me they had their OWN restrictions on what the coupons could be used on. As for bbb, i've gotten a ton of coupons from them and from bed bath (both of which can be used) and have had zero problems in using them. Just some food for thought.

I did BBB because the return policy at BRU SUCKS!!! I can't even begin to tell you about the idiotic issues I had there returning gifts. BBB just takes back whatever, whenever. I also think it has a much better and nicer selection of baby gear.

BRU has the worst return policy ever. I would not register with them again. I'd stick to Amazon or BBB.

We did both. As much as I despise BRU it is more convenient for most of the guests. Also the 10% back on registries is sweet, however I much prefer BBB. The selection is better, better customer service, better coupons, nicer layout and much much better return policy.

I did BBB and will again for this baby (for my own way to keep a list - I'm not having another shower.) BBB's return policy is fantastic. We had bought a humidifier from them that stopped working a year later. They let me return it since I had the box and pick out a new one. I was very pleased with their selection too.

Did BBB and just figured everyone will order online. I just hate BRU.

BBB for the big stuff (better return policy, generally nicer experience), but BRU has better basics (sheets, waterproof pads), so I did both.

I had no issues with BRU when DD was born. Everyone complains, but they easily returned anything that was bought off my registry. I registered there again this time around. BBB is just too far for me.

Complain on their Facebook, it's the only way I got my issues fixed.

Yeah, I'm going to have to. My sister said she bought a bunch of stuff over a week ago and it's still on there.

thanks everyone for the suggestions. leaning towards registering at BBB for the big stuff, and doing another registry at BRU for the smaller more basic things.

i'm curious what issues people had with returns at BRU? Their policy is that you have a year to return anything on your registry, so that really appealed to me. I'd be upset if that turns out not to be true.
