Switching DR
I've been seeing RSofNY for to long. I'm not comfortable with them. Besides their office being extremely busy and feeling "factory like" I some times feel stupid. I don't know much (I don't know where to really learn all the stuff you guys know) and feel stupid for asking questions. I feel like they just expect you to know everything!! Help!
Where can I find out more info (I feel dumb) and who does everyone see?

I'd stay away from LI IVF then because I feel it's similar there and they are very expensive if you pay out of pocket.

Ugh thanks. I was just looking at them. I do pay out of pocket. Do you have a recommendation?

Re: Switching DR
It's different for everyone but I have been very happy at LIIVF. It does not feel factory like to me. I do go for monitoring at one of their smaller offices and I think that makes a big difference.

If you pay out of pocket then definitely stay away. They seem to be one of the most expensive practices on LI. I learned that the hard way. I thought the nurses were great but I NEVER saw a doctor. I had a consult with my doctor in April when I started and I never saw him again, or any other dr for that matter.

Re: Switching DR
I also see Dr. Palter at Gold Coast IVF. He's great and the staff is wonderful. I feel very comfortable there that they are on top of everything. Dr. Palter is the only dr and you see the same couple of nurses and sono techs when you go in for monitoring. They are so involved in your care that you always feel like you are in good hands. Good luck!

Re: Switching DR
I left RSofNY too and went to LI IVF and was successful there. I also went to a smaller office for monitoring and felt much for comfortable there. I know everyone is different. good luck!

Same here. Left there and went to LIIVF and I used Dr. Brenner. I love him. He's the reason I have my DS. Office was efficient and I was always pretty much in and out of early monitoring. Only big difference was that all weekend monitoring and procedures were done in Melville. Well worth the trip for me!

I went to SIRM NYC. I had success there after switching from a practice on LI.
Learning all this IF stuff is overwhelming. I learned SOOO much on this board. I knew very little coming into it and now I feel pretty well versed in it. Ask questions on here. Also use the search feature in here to search for topics. Whenever I wasn't sure of something I searched for it on here and on the web. I PMd ladies on here who had posts about what I was looking for and got lots of good information.
I am a big advocate for switching practices if yours isn't working for you. Definitely follow your gut. GL

Re: Switching DR
I actually switched to RSONY and never had any issues they are pretty on top of everything and whatever I don't understand I ask them to translate lol... Everyone has different experiences I guess. Hope you find a place you feel most comfortable.

I was going to CWRC...in a word AWFUL! I did get pregnant with my first child with them, but going back the second time, I was completely turned off. Very factory like, dr's don't bother to remember your name, or at least pretend to, and the billing dept is the worst ever. I switched over to The Kofinas Fertility Institute in Park Slope Brooklyn. BEST DECISION EVER. The staff is AMAZING from the ladies you check in with, to the billing staff, all the way up to the drs. They actually wanted to know what wasn't working. Not just blindly do IVF procedures to bleed my insurance dry. I would 100% recommend, the trip to brooklyn is worth it.
