What time does your newborn go to bed?

DD is 7 weeks and I wonder if I should put her in bed earlier. I know there are no routines and no certain bedtime with a newborn just trying to see what other people do. What time do you usually try to get you LO to bed, how often do they wake at night and what time do they wake up in the morning? Do they take a late nap before bed?

Almost 3 week old sleeps in the LR (bouncy seat or swing) until 12-1 am. Needs a feeding around that time and still very hard to put down at night. Wakes at 2 am, 4am and 630 am. Nights are not fun right now! If we try to put him to bed earlier (I put baby in his bed 5 min ago), he sleeps for 15 min and wakes up screaming. Also will not nap in his be during the day, at all. He is certainly running the show right now

And he is screaming now lol

Our 9 week old goes in her crib around 8:30 until she wakes up around 1am. Then she goes back until about 4:30, when I get up and fall asleep nursing her on the couch. We then wake up for the day around 7.

At that age DD was sleeping from around 10/11pm to 6am. Her naps were frequent and all over the place. Then we slowly moved her bedtime up to 8pm (by 11/12 weeks) and most nights she still sleeps till 6ish.

At that age, same time we went to bed - around 10. At 4 months, he went to bed at 8, and by 6 months he was going to bed until 7:30.

My son was still waking up every 2-4 hours at night and would nap whenever he wanted.

At that age there was no bed time. She dozed for 20-30 min at a time then would wake up and scream then repeat. Round the clock. 24/7.

DD is five weeks. I nurse her between 8-9 and then we try and get her to sleep and stay asleep so we can do a dream feed around 11. Then she sleeps until 5 or 6.

Newborns have bed times jk lol. Mine never had a set time. Oh im tired just thinking about those days

Never at that age. I'm not even sure how you would know which time was the "bedtime" since they feed so often.

At that age it's all about wake times. So maybe she stays awake for an hour, then goes back to sleep. The whole day and night is really just a cycle of awake, sleep, awake, sleep. No bedtime. I'd let my kids sleep, but wake them for a feeding right before I wanted to go to bed.

DS woke up every 3 hours like clockwork for the first 2-3 months. He's now 4 months and we're just semi-establishing a bedtime of 7-8ish. When I told our DR he said that's all well and good but more than likely it will change so for now I'm just going with it.

She's 10w and I try to feed her between 7&8 she will usually fall asleep around 9 and I put her in the rnp. Most nights she'll sleep till between 2&3. I don't feed MOTN anymore. So I just pick her up and give her the paci to go back to sleep. Or she stays on my bed from that point on.

She'll be 4 weeks on Saturday, and as of now, she goes in the bassinet when we go to bed - typically we go up around 11 and I feed her in bed and then put her in the bassinet (in our room), so she's usually in there by 12, maybe a little earlier. She typically wakes around 4/4:30 and I end up being up for around an hour with her (feeding, changing, getting her back to sleep) and then she sleeps again until 8 or 9.

She does tend to cluster feed in the 7-11 time frame more than the rest of the day, so I'm thinking that might help her sleep better at night. But yeah, totally playing it by ear at this point. One thing I read said with newborns, it's about maximizing your sleep, so put them to "bed" right after feeding when you want to go to bed so you get the longest stretch of sleep you can. She does nap in RnP or on me or DH in the evening as well, but especially since that's DH's only real quality time with her right now (since he's working), just seems to make sense right now not to put her to bed earlier.

We have been giving DD her last bottle at 10-1030 since she was born and then she goes down for the night. She is 13 weeks and is sleeping until 7-730am. But at that age she would sleep until around 3am before waking for a bottle.

DS didn't have a set bedtime but around 8/9PM we would start with soft noises and dim the lights. His last feeding around 11/11:30PM we would put him down in his room. We did this until he dropped the 11/11:30PM feeding.

Last bottle around 9:30. For awhile she slept til 3:30am, went back to sleep,,then up at 6:30. Now she goes 9:30-6:00-ish

DS is almost 5 months but he has been going to down about 8pm and them wakes at 1 eats back down up at 4 eats and back down up at 7. Its kinda exhausting!

we put both DS's on the same schedule when they were each born. We wanted to feed every 4 hours and determined the time based on when we wanted to all "go to sleep"! we did bottles at 7, 11 and 3.

So we wanted the last bottle to be around 11 figuring we could go up at 1130 feed at 3 and then be up and 7 and feel like we only got up once in the middle of the night. We would sometime pass out on couch waiting for the 11 bottle. But it worked. and when they both dropped the 3am bottle, them we got a nice stretch from 1130ish to 7ish!

We would dream feed at 11 as he would normally be aseep by then. By 4.5 months we dropped the dreamfeed. We started solids and were able to put the 7pm bottle to 8pm.

DS is 9 weeks. We put him to bed at 8:30pm, wake him for a dream feed at 11:30pm and then he'll sleep to 6:30 or so.
