I would not expect her to invite your son over for playdates when she is hosting other children or for her to invite you and your son when she is hosting other kids and the moms. For me it's always been two's company, three's a crowd. And I am living it now because my daughters are only 17 months apart so every time one of them has some one over, one of my daughters ends up getting left out. I think a lot of people feel the same way. But I would think that you would invite her and her children over for playdates when others aren't involved and vice versa.
Our neighbors and the family diagonally across the street both have boys the same age as my son so I know how it can be hard for the kids to understand but I never let my son interrupt the other kids playdates and my neighbors have the same respect for my sons playdates. However I will say the majority of time they are all playing with each other as having close friends nearby is an automatic playdate.

She NEVER invites my son over. Thats my issue. And the boys are friends. I don't expect it every time. But never? Really?

yeah I would have a huge problem with that. I would say the three boys we have here are in and out of each others homes all the time. It's like an open door policy. We live in an old school type of neighborhood where the kids are all outside all the time and they just ring the bell and ask if so and so can come out to play. There are so many of them out there that lots of time there isn't even an adult with them (some of them are a little older than my son).
Do you have her son over often? I would continue to invite her son over just to foster the friendship between the kids and then in a couple of years they might be more like the kids in my neighborhood and just play outside all the time. And then you don't have to worry about her anymore...

Thank you. I do. And yes, thats what I planned on doing. I even said flat out like look, we dont have to be friends. Her son invites my son over and I'll text her about it and she just "lol" it off. Its disappointing.

He is 8 and in 2nd grade. She sounds like a total b*tch! That's sad because it's so great when you have a good friend that lives so close as a little kid and it makes those early sleepovers so much easier because you can just walk the kid home if they get scared in the middle of the night.
