How often do you bathe your 1 year old?

DD is 1 and goes to daycare 5 days a week. She has always gotten a bath every night and her hair is usually washed every other time - its part of the nightly routine and she loves the tub. She comes home from daycare "dirty" -- they run around, she's still a messy eater as she's now starting to learn how to use utensils, sunscreen on her skin, etc. After recently sharing this with a friend, she told me I was crazy for doing this and that she bathes her kids 2-3x a week. What do you do?

I like to do every other, but depends how dirty I feel like he is. To be honest, most night it is every night. He's a messy eater so I find it easier to just toss him in the tub. I also find he falls asleep a little better after a bath. My DS is almost 2.

Every single night. It's part of our night routine and helps her sleep better. Plus I feel she needs it. I can't imagine not showing every day for myself, so why should I not bathe her every day

I bathe him on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. If he's really dirty, I'll add in a bath.

At that age, we did like 2x a week... My dd was home with me and wasn't a messy baby, but I can see how having a little one in daycare might make you do baths more often. Even now at 4, we do 3x a week. Obviously summer tends to be more with sunscreen/pools and such.

Every other or so. In the summer it's more but that's cause we are at the beach a lot. I never gave him a bath every day. His skin is sensitive and it would be a mess if I did.

It really, really varies. He's not in daycare but usually every or every other. Sometimes it's longer though. Like for instance last week he REFUSED to go in the bath. So he did without for a few days my mom ended up giving him a sponge bath and he was ok with that. He usually loves bath time though not sure what his issue was hahaha.

At 1 I did even other night until about 2. She wasn't really that messy. Now at 3 she comes home from school filthy. I mostly do every night, but some nights she'll take a bath every night but I won't wash her hair.

ETA: I think it's interesting that people say bathing every night dries skin out. My daughter had severe eczema (like her skin was cracked and bleeding everywhere severe), that has thankfully subsided now that she is just about 2 y/o. But her dermatologist and allergist both always recommended bathing her EVERY night because it actually moisturizes the skin. We were told to bathe her in lukewarm water every night for 20 minutes or until she's pruney, followed immediately by her lotion. Her skin is so soft now, something I always envied about other babies when she was little and going through her skin issues. Now it's just a part of our routine and she loves bath time. I know some drs do tell my parents to bathe less often to avoid drying out the skin so I find the differing philosophies interesting.

Kids & I all had dry skin.
2-3 times a week (butts washed daily).

Both my 1 and 3 year olds get a bath every other night. THe older one has eczema and any more than that dries him out too much. During the summer when he's particularly dirty I'll have to bathe more often, but then it's a quick bath.

every other day, unless they get particularly dirty outside that day. We wipe down feet and stinky parts every day with a wipe or washcloth.

every other night, but once camp starts (when they are in the pool daily or have sunscreen on) it will be every night

I bathe both of my kids 3-4 times a week, unless they have sunscreen on or are visibly dirty (so obviously during the summer this number is higher).

Bathing every day dries out their skin and at their ages, is completely unnecessary.
