Question For Those of You Who Moved Out of State (Specifically, to Florida)
Hi, everyone. I will be moving to Florida (Boca Raton) from Long Island sometime this Spring (should be going into contract on the sale of my house within a week).
For those of you who have moved to Florida, would you be willing to share how much it cost for the moving truck? I know it will vary but looking for a ball park figure. Also, did anyone use a professional packer? I figured I would check here first before calling for estimates. You can FM if you feel more comfortable.
Thanks!!

hey there, we paid approx $5K-ish to move from NJ to FL with 2 stops. 1 stop to drop off 1/2 of our stuff to storage and other half to the townhome we rented. I can get you his info later!
btw- Boca is really nice. you're going to love it!

Thank you so much, that is helpful! My job is paying for the move but I wasn't ready to start calling for estimates as I know I will be hounded to death, lol! And I only know that I should close middle to end of May. It's actually quite unbelievable the amount of flyers I've received in the mail from movers as soon as the for sale sign went up, lol.
I would love your mover's info.
Thanks!

Question For Those of You Who Moved Out of State (Specifically, to Florida)
Hi...bumping this post as I'm currently in the same situation and curious as to whether you like the area. My employer is transferring me and paying for the move to Boca. I've looked (online) at Aberdeen, Lake Worth. What are some other areas with good schools but not as high of taxes as Boca itself? Any oher insights? We are planning a house hunting trip for end of May. Thanks! hope your move went well.

Hi! I'm still in NY awaiting my closing date. I've been down twice house hunting since I started this post. Lake Worth is a bit of a hike especially during rush hours (my ex-inlaws live there so I've done the drive to/from Boca many times when visiting).
I've settled on Delray Beach but in the Boca school district so my taxes aren't nearly as high as Boca and my commute is about 15 minutes to my new office by Powerline and W Palmetto Park Rd. I LOVE Delray Beach My development is off Linton which has everything right there that you could possibly need and only minutes to Atlantic Ave. I looked in East Boca but for the money I realized I would be living in a shoebox house and further west in Boca wasn't really for me (I don't have young children and wanted to be in a livelier area) although you can get more house for your money. Good luck to you as well! FM me if I can answer any questions or help in anyway!

Hi girls,
Just wanted to reach out - I've lived in Parkland (just south of Boca) for almost nine years. Let me know if either of you have any questions or want to commiserate about the bad pizza, bagels, and Chinese food!!

Re: Question For Those of You Who Moved Out of State (Specifically, to Florida)
We used Verity based in Seaford for our FL move. I think our move cost somewhere around 6-7K, we moved close to 10,000 pounds. My husband's employer paid for the move. We didn't use professional movers. We packed everything ourselves with a 4 yr old and 8 month old running around and it wasn't bad at all.
